Flights to Uzbekistan: how to get from Europe, the USA & the UAE
Flight HY 202 leaves London Heathrow at 18:00 and lands in Tashkent at 05:55 the next morning, after 6 hours 55 minutes in the air. Most of the night disappears in the time difference: Tashkent is on UTC+5 all year round. We meet guests at Tashkent airport all year round, and before the trip they nearly all ask the same thing: what is the easiest way to get here from home?
Here is the answer for Europe, the USA and the UAE, with the timetables as they stand for the winter season 2026/27.
Where you land

Tashkent (TAS) is the main international gateway, and almost every long-haul flight arrives here. Samarkand (SKD), Bukhara (BHK) and Urgench (UGC), the airport for Khiva, also receive flights from Istanbul. That lets you fly into one city and out of another without doubling back.
The national carrier is Uzbekistan Airways (code HY). Its nonstop flights from Europe and the USA are the fastest way in; for everything else there are one-stop connections through Istanbul, the Gulf or Kazakhstan.
From Europe

In the November 2026 timetable Uzbekistan Airways flies nonstop to Tashkent from:
- London: Heathrow twice a week and Gatwick once a week, 6 h 55 min;
- Paris Charles de Gaulle: twice a week, 6 h 55 min;
- Frankfurt: twice a week, 6 h 20 min;
- Munich: once a week, 6 h 20 min;
- Milan Malpensa: twice a week, 6 h 15 min;
- Riga: four times a week, 5 hours.
From anywhere else in Europe the usual route is via Istanbul. Turkish Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways fly from Istanbul to Tashkent several times a day, in about 4.5 hours. Turkish Airlines also flies from Istanbul to Samarkand, Bukhara and Urgench, which is handy if your tour starts in Khiva or Bukhara.
From the USA
Uzbekistan Airways flies nonstop from New York JFK to Tashkent: three to four times a week this autumn, about 12 hours on the way out and 13 hours 10 minutes on the way home. From other American cities, connect in New York, or fly to Istanbul or a European hub and change there.
From the UAE and the Gulf
Uzbekistan Airways flies from Dubai to Tashkent every day, in 3 h 10 min, and flydubai serves the same route. Qatar Airways flies from Doha, a good option if you are coming from Africa, Asia or Australia on its network.
From Central Asia, Air Astana connects Tashkent with Did you know?
