What “tailor-made” means with us
We start from your wishes, not from a fixed package. Everything below can be changed, and where something depends on availability, we tell you straight away.
- Route
- Which cities and how many nights in each: Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, or the Fergana Valley, Karakalpakstan, the mountains or a neighbouring country.
- Dates
- Any dates that suit you, festivals and holidays included. Afrosiyob seats and small old-town hotels sell out in spring and autumn, so the earlier you write, the more choice you have.
- Pace
- Early starts and full days, or one or two sights in the morning and a free afternoon. After a long transfer, we plan an easy day.
- Hotels
- The level you want: family-run guesthouses and boutique hotels in the old towns, or large modern hotels. Every hotel is named in the plan.
- A guide in your language
- For all twelve languages of this site, a guide who speaks your language is included. For other languages, we offer an English-speaking guide, or look for a guide in your language on request.
- Transport
- A car or minibus with a driver, the Afrosiyob high-speed train, domestic flights, or a mix of them, depending on the route and your group.
Special requests
- Food: vegetarian, kosher or another diet. Tell us in advance, and we plan the restaurants and meals to match; tell us about allergies too.
- Children: shorter days, breaks and things children enjoy, such as a pottery workshop or the fast train. Tell us their ages, and we plan around them.
- Mobility: if you use a wheelchair or find steps difficult, tell us when you write. Old towns have uneven paving and some sites have stairs; we tell you where, and plan cars, stations and hotel rooms with you.

- A plan within 24 hoursWithin 24 hours of getting your details, we send a day-by-day itinerary with the hotels named and every line itemised, so you see what each part costs.

Questions about tailor-made tours
How is a tailor-made tour different from a private tour in your catalogue?
A private tour in the catalogue is a ready route that we run for your party alone. A tailor-made tour starts from your wishes: we take a catalogue tour as the base and change it, or build the route from scratch.
How quickly will we get a plan?
Within 24 hours of getting your dates, group size and interests, we send a day-by-day plan. Revisions are free.
How much does a tailor-made tour cost?
The price is on request: it depends on the season, the hotels, the transport and the size of your group. You get it with the plan, itemised line by line, in USD and fixed at booking.
Will the guide speak our language?
For all twelve languages of this site, a guide in your language is included. For other languages, we offer an English-speaking guide, or look for a guide in your language on request.
Can we add Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan or Turkmenistan?
Yes. We run routes across the border to all four neighbours and combine them with Uzbekistan in one trip. Entry rules differ by country and passport, so check them for your passport before you book.
Can we change the plan during the trip?
Yes: tell your guide or call the office, which is on call 24/7. Changes to trains and hotels depend on what is available on the day.
