Expert opinion
Pluses
- Private jeep and guide: A private 4×4 jeep with a driver and a guide in your language for the whole route.
- One base, no hotel changes: All three nights are in mountain accommodation in Mountains of the Western Tian Shan about 80 km from Tashkent: hiking in summer, skiing in winter, the Charvak reservoir nearby. Read more →, so you unpack once.
- Plan follows the day: The route into the Pskem Valley and the Ugam range follows weather and road conditions, and it can be extended to 5–6 days.
Minuses
- No fixed route: Each day's route depends on weather and mountain conditions, and day 3 has no fixed route at all.
- Meals and flights extra: Meals (on request), flights to and from Tashkent, tips and insurance are not in the price.
- Lodging type not fixed: The programme says a mountain hotel or guesthouse in Chimgan, without naming which.

Day 1 · Tashkent to Chimgan. The Start
Pick-up at the airport or your Tashkent hotel. Jeeps loaded, a short briefing, and off into the mountains. Charvak appears only as the first landmark on the road, not the destination. Onward to Chimgan: check-in at a mountain hotel or guesthouse, sunset, dinner by the fire or on the terrace, depending on the season.
Day 2 · Pskem. The River Road
Morning departure toward the Pskem Valley. The route is built around the drive itself: a mountain river, changing terrain, forest stretches, viewpoints, and short walks. Lunch is a hot picnic, not a scheduled stop. In the evening, back to the mountain accommodation — or an overnight in a small local spot, conditions permitting.
Day 3 · Ugam. A Day With No Fixed Route
The jeeps head toward the Ugam range. The day’s plan depends on the weather, road conditions, and where the group wants to go deeper — a gorge, a mountain village, a spot by the water, a short trek, or a panorama with no one else around. This is the expedition’s core principle: never force the real road into a route planned in advance. A final dinner in the mountains closes the day.
Day 4 · Mountains to Tashkent
An unhurried breakfast, one last short walk, and the return to Tashkent. Airport transfer, or continue your journey across Uzbekistan. The route can be extended to 5–6 days, adding a night in the Pskem Valley and more time on foot.
