Tashkent hosts the Asian Table Tennis Championships for the first time
For one week in October Tashkent becomes the capital of Asian table tennis. The 29th ITTF-ATTU Asian Table Tennis Championships run from 19 to 25 October 2026 at the Olympic Village, the first time the continental championship comes to Uzbekistan.
Who plays
About 255 players from 33 countries are expected. For many of them the tournament is also a step towards the world finals in 2027.
A city of sport
The Olympic Village will also host the 4th Asian Youth Games in 2029; in early October a delegation of the Olympic Council of Asia came to Tashkent to review the preparations. Mid-October is one of the nicest times in the city, with warm days, cool evenings and the plane trees turning gold.
After the matches, see the city lights on our evening Tashkent walk.
