The Solar Furnace (Institute of the Sun)

Trip to Chor-Chinor

An evening in the Karakum desert near Khiva

A desert excursion, the «Desert Sunset» show and a «Khorezm set» dinner. Choose two experiences out of six: a tasting of seven kinds of melon (in season), traditional archery, or a masterclass in tandoor flatbread, shivit oshi, tukhum barak or Khorezm plov.

Trip to the Ayaz-Kala fortress

Guide and entrance tickets included. Ayaz-Kala is three desert fortresses; the oldest crowns a hill about 100 m high and dates from the 4th–3rd century BC. From its walls you see the salt lake Ayazkul and the desert to the horizon.

A night in a yurt in the Karakum desert near Khiva

Arrival around 14:00–15:00, two experiences of your choice (melon tasting in season, archery or a cooking masterclass), time to rest, the «Desert Sunset» excursion and show, and a «Khorezm set» dinner. The night is in a comfortable traditional yurt; breakfast in the morning, departure by 12:00.

Khorezm in a day and a night: Itchan Kala and the Karakum desert

Early arrival at the desert camp from 6:00 and breakfast, then a guided tour of Itchan Kala (entrance tickets and lunch on request). Back in the desert: two experiences of your choice, the «Desert Sunset» show, dinner and the theatrical show «Legends of Ancient Khorezm» with photos with the performers.
