Program

Day-by-day itinerary

Meet at the airport for flight SU1984 at 6:00 a.m., transfer to the hotel.

Check-in at 2:00 p.m. (early check-in available for an additional fee). Breakfast at the hotel.

10:00 a.m. – Start of the tour of Samarkand. Main attractions: Registan Square – the heart of ancient Samarkand. It includes three magnificent madrasahs: Ulugbek Madrasah (15th century) – the center of astronomy and science under Tamerlane’s grandson. Tilla-Kari Madrasah (17th century) – decorated with gilded arches. Sher-Dor Madrasah (17th century) – famous for its depiction of lions, which is unusual for Islamic architecture. Bibi Khanum Mosque (1399-1405) – Tamerlane’s cathedral mosque, built in honor of his victorious campaign in India and named after Amir Timur’s beloved wife. Siab Bazaar – a walk through the Eastern Bazaar, buying spices, hot flatbreads, and local sweets.

5:00 p.m. – End of the tour and transfer to the hotel to rest.

Dinner is on your own.

Optional after dinner: evening tour of the Gur-Emir Mausoleum (15th century) – the tomb of Amir Timur. Tamerlane himself rests here, as well as his sons and grandsons. The beautifully lit mausoleum building hides amazing stories that can only be heard when the sounds of the day fade away – +$15 per person.

Morning. Continuation of the tour of Samarkand (11:00-13:00): Shahi-Zinda Complex (11th-14th centuries) – an ensemble of mausoleums of noble persons and relatives of Tamerlane, decorated with bright blue tiles. Ulugbek Observatory – a unique 15th-century scientific center where the great astronomer observed the stars.

Lunch at the Plov Center – only here can you try authentic Samarkand plov, distinguished by its unique taste.

After lunch, the excursion program continues: Afrosiab Museum — an archaeological chronicle of ancient Samarkand, dating back to the 7th century BC.

Optional: Walking tour with audio guides — Invisible Samarkand. This is a unique journey through the city, in which you become not just a spectator, but a part of history. In your headphones, you will hear the voice of the main character, who returns to his native Samarkand after many years. His memories, music, and the sounds of the city will accompany you through the famous and hidden streets. You will start your journey in the courtyard of the Bibi-Khanum Mosque, receive headphones, and follow a route full of emotions, interactivity, and unexpected twists and turns. Duration: about 100 minutes – +$30 per person.

On this day, you can take excursions to neighboring cities: Bukhara, Shakhrisabz, or Tashkent, which will complement and enrich your tour of Uzbekistan. Or you can stay in Samarkand and get to know it even better.

Morning. City tour: The tomb of Saint Daniel — a revered place of pilgrimage respected by Muslims, Christians, and Jews. Meros Silk Paper Factory — an introduction to an ancient craft that has survived since the days of the Great Silk Road. Visit to the Silk Road complex and the Eternal City — a mini installation of Uzbekistan.

Optional: Bagizagan wine tasting in the tasting room. A professional tasting awaits you in the wine room: from light whites to rich reds, including the famous Peri wines and dessert varieties inspired by Eastern sweetness. The wine is served with light snacks and a cheese plate that highlight the flavor palette of the drinks – $35 per person.
