About the tour

Independent Uzbekistan tour: what’s included and how it works

An independent journey through Uzbekistan where all the logistics are already handled for you.

We take care of the hardest and most time-consuming part: vetted hotels in four cities, transfers between airports, stations and hotels, and every leg of the Tashkent — Khiva — Bukhara — Samarkand route. You don’t need to figure out train schedules, book hotels one by one, or overpay on the spot — the route is already built and connected.

Excursions are not included in the package — and that’s by design. This way you don’t pay for what you may not need, and you decide where to spend more time. You add the excursions you like separately, right on the site, to match your interests and budget.

The day-by-day itinerary below shows what you can see in each city. Entrance tickets and guide services are not part of the base price — you choose the excursions yourself.

Q&A

Frequently asked questions

Are excursions included in the tour price?
No, and that’s intentional. The price covers hotels, transport and transfers — the things that are hard and expensive to arrange on your own. Guided excursions and entrance tickets are chosen and purchased separately on the site: this way you don’t pay for what you may not need, and you decide where to go deeper.
Then what am I seeing in the day-by-day itinerary?
The itinerary shows what you can see in each city and how the logistics between them are arranged. The transfers, hotels and connections themselves are already included. Visiting the sites with a guide and entrance tickets are arranged separately.
Do I need a visa for Uzbekistan?
Citizens of many countries enjoy visa-free entry to Uzbekistan. The rules and terms depend on your citizenship — please check the current requirements for your passport before travelling. If needed, we’ll advise and help with an invitation letter.
Are international flights included?
No. You buy the flights to and from Uzbekistan yourself — this way you pick a convenient route and price from your departure city. Domestic flights and train tickets along the route can be added as an extra service.
Can I choose the hotel category?
Yes. Three categories are available — “Tourist”, “Boutique” and “Superior”. The program and route stay the same; only the level of accommodation and the price change.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking no later than 21 days before the tour starts. Hotel and transport reservations are confirmed only after your confirmation and prepayment.
What about meals?
Breakfasts at the hotels are included. Lunches and dinners are up to you — so you’re free to try local cuisine wherever you like.
What if there are no tickets for the Afrosiyob train?
If seats on the Afrosiyob high-speed train are unavailable, we replace it with the SHARQ train or arrange a transfer on that leg — without breaking the route’s logistics.
What is the cancellation policy?
14 or more days before the tour — 20% charge; 7 or more days — 50%; less than 7 days — 100%. Exact terms are fixed at the time of booking.
Are you a licensed tour operator?
Yes. We operate under license No. 853484 and our activity is insured (APEX Insurance). You can reach us by phone, WhatsApp or Telegram.

Good to know

  • Hotel check-in is at 14:00, check-out at 11:00. Early check-in and late check-out are not included in the price.
  • Accommodation is subject to availability; booking is made only after the client’s confirmation. If a hotel is unavailable, it is replaced with a similar one of the same category.
  • The operator reserves the right to change the route, the order of the program and the hotels if circumstances beyond our control require it. A site closed to visitors is replaced with an alternative.
  • Domestic flights may change in time and availability; if a flight is unavailable, a convenient replacement within the program is arranged.
  • If tickets for the Afrosiyob high-speed train are unavailable, it may be replaced with the SHARQ train or a coach transfer on that leg.

Frequently asked questions

Why book with AroundCA instead of arranging it myself online?

Because a booking site gives you rooms; we give you a trip that actually works. We know which neighbourhood to stay in, which “great” hotel disappoints, how to sequence a route so you’re not backtracking, and who to call when a flight is cancelled at 11pm. You get a real person who lives in the region — not 40 open browser tabs and a gut feeling.

How much does your planning service cost?

Nothing. Our planning, proposals and revisions are free — we’re paid by the hotels and suppliers we book, at the same rates you’d pay them directly. Expert planning at no extra cost to you.

Is it more expensive than booking direct?

No. We pass through the rates our partners give us, and every proposal is itemised so you see exactly what you pay for. No hidden mark-ups, no fees buried at checkout.

Are you a licensed and insured company?

Yes — fully. We’re a licensed Uzbek tour operator (licence № 853484, registry L-41802557), issued by the Committee for Tourism of Tashkent and valid for domestic, inbound and outbound tourism. Our tour-operator civil liability is insured with APEX INSURANCE (policy EAPD № 1016716). Both documents are available on request.

How do I pay, and is it secure?

Everything is official and transparent. You can pay by bank transfer to our Uzbek company account, or through a secure payment link from our website — official internet acquiring protected by end-to-end encryption. If you prefer, you can also pay via our single company QR code. No cash-in-hand, no grey schemes.

Which destinations do you cover?

We operate across Central Asia — Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan — plus the Caucasus on request, in combination with a Central Asia route. If you don’t see your destination, ask anyway.

Do you also handle flights, visas and insurance?

Yes. We cover all air tickets, visas and travel insurance within our region — your whole trip arranged in one place.

What kind of trips do you plan?

All of them, as long as they’re tailored — honeymoons and romantic getaways, family holidays, luxury and premium escapes, and organised groups, incentives and corporate/MICE programmes.

Can I change the proposal after I receive it?

Yes — that’s the point. Adjust the pace, swap hotels, move dates, tweak the budget. We refine it together over as many rounds as you need, then you confirm.

What’s your cancellation and refund policy?

It depends on your specific booking. Cancellation terms usually follow the hotels’ penalty rules, and air tickets follow the official airlines’ fare conditions. We always show you the exact terms for your trip before you confirm — no surprises.

How do we stay in touch during the trip?

You have us on call throughout — by WhatsApp, phone or email. If a reservation slips or plans change on the ground, one message and we sort it.
