Program

Day-by-day itinerary

Arrival in Urgench, meet and greet at the airport, followed by transfer to Khiva (approx. 30 km, 30 minutes). Breakfast at a local restaurant.

Khiva City Tour — A Living Museum of the Great Silk Road.

Khiva is one of the most atmospheric cities in Uzbekistan — a true open-air museum where every stone preserves the stories of caravans, merchants and powerful rulers of the East.

The excursion begins with a visit to Ichan-Kala, the historic inner city of Khiva, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Behind its massive fortress walls unfolds a world of medieval Oriental architecture, with narrow streets, turquoise domes and majestic minarets.

You will visit:

  • Kalta Minor Minaret — the city’s iconic landmark with its striking turquoise tiles
  • Muhammad Amin Khan Madrasah — one of the largest madrasahs in Central Asia
  • Kunya Ark — the ancient khan’s citadel featuring the throne hall and observation terraces
  • Tash Hauli Palace — the lavish residence of Khivan khans with beautifully decorated courtyards
  • Islam Khodja Madrasah and Minaret — the highest point in Khiva offering panoramic views over the old town
  • Juma Mosque — the unique Friday Mosque supported by carved wooden columns, each with its own history

During the walk through the old city, you will observe local craftsmen at work and visit traditional workshops specializing in wood carving, ceramics and carpet weaving.

The excursion is conducted at a relaxed pace, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the East, take beautiful photographs and truly feel the spirit of this ancient city, where past and present blend in harmony.
