Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1. Tashkent — Samarkand — Tashkent

Tour day: Saturday

Route: Tashkent — Samarkand — Tashkent

Departure to Samarkand by car (~270 km, 4-5 hours). Arrival and breakfast at a local restaurant.

Start of the Samarkand excursion — The Heart of the Silk Road.

Registan Square – the main square of Central Asia and an architectural masterpiece of the 15th–17th centuries. You will see the three famous madrasahs — Ulugbek, Sher-Dor and Tillya-Kari, and learn about the development of science, religion and art during the Timurid era.

Gur-Emir Mausoleum – the tomb of the great commander Amir Timur (Tamerlane). The monumental dome and exquisite interior make this place one of the most impressive monuments of Samarkand.

Bibi-Khanym Mosque – one of the largest architectural projects of its time, built by order of Timur in honor of his wife.

Siab Bazaar – an introduction to Oriental atmosphere: spices, dried fruits, flatbreads and local sweets. Opportunity to try Samarkand bread.

Lunch at a national restaurant – plov, manti or shashlik optional.

Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis – a unique architectural ensemble of mausoleums with rich mosaics and ceramics, one of the most atmospheric places in the city.

Ulugbek Observatory – one of the most important scientific structures of the 15th century, evidence of the high level of astronomy during the Timurid era.

17:00–18:00 — end of the excursion, return to Tashkent (~270 km, 4-5 hours).

Overnight in Samarkand is possible upon request. Hotel is paid and booked additionally.
